Bitbolt is a mobile client for Odoo® Community. It connects to a server you or your organization operates.

Getting started

On first launch, enter the web address your team uses to reach Odoo — the same one you would type into a browser. Choose a database if your server hosts more than one, then sign in with the username and password you already use, or through your organization’s single sign-on.Bitbolt does not include a server and cannot create one. If you do not know your server’s address, ask whoever administers Odoo where you work.

The companion module

Bitbolt requires a small module, bitbolt_mobile, to be installed on your Odoo server. It is open source (LGPL-3) and it is what lets the app scan barcodes into fields, attach photos, and receive notifications. If it is missing, the app says so on the setup screen and offers instructions to pass to your administrator. It cannot be installed from the app.

Why can’t I sign in?

Check the server address first — the app shows a different message for “no connection”, “server not answering”, and “server returned an error”. If the page loads but the password is refused, the credentials are your server’s, not Bitbolt’s, and your administrator can reset them.

Nothing happens when I tap the camera button

Camera access has been declined for Bitbolt. Turn it on in your device’s Settings, under Bitbolt.

Notifications are not arriving

Open Settings → Diagnostics in the app and check that Push shows “Registered”. If it does not, notifications may be disabled for Bitbolt in your device settings, or the companion module may not be installed on your server.

A change my administrator made is not showing

Pull down to refresh. If the app has been open a long time, a refresh button also appears in the toolbar when the server has newer code than the app is running.

How do I remove a server?

Open the servers list, swipe or long-press the server, and remove it. That deletes the stored account from the device and unregisters it for notifications.

Diagnostics

Settings → Diagnostics shows the server, the Odoo version, which native features negotiated successfully, and recent activity. “Share diagnostics” puts that text where you can paste it into a support message; it is redacted before it is shown. Including it makes a report far easier to act on.
